112 Wall Shelf employs lamella loops as brackets to support a substantial birch veneer panel. The particular lamella loops used in the creation of Wall Shelf 112 require the strength of two people to bend them into shape and come with a single seam. The brackets can be placed both below and above the panel, in which case they also serve as bookends. Elegant and practical, this wall shelf displays designer Alvar Aalto’s affinity with natural materials.
This console serves as desk, bar, or deep shelf, depending on the height at which it is mounted. Supporting the console are vertical wall brackets available in either natural or stained oak, with simple steel bands providing diagonal support. The surface of the console is finished in linoleum. Common to the Kaari collection as a whole, the interplay between the steel bands and the vertical and horizontal elements creates a distinctive linear silhouette.
This whimsical round shelf can serve as bedside table, a dropping-off spot in an entrance area, or a platform to highlight a precious object. The shelf comprises a round panel, a vertical wall bracket, and the distinctive steel band common to the Kaari collection. The panel has a linoleum finish, while the wall bracket is made of oak. Offering diagonal support, the steel band, juxtaposed with the vertical and horizontal elements, creates a fluid, linear silhouette that enhances the curves of the round panel.
Composed of three wood legs and the signature Kiila wedge, the Kiila Coat Stand is simple and sturdy. Inspired by the camera tripod on which designer Daniel Rybakken used to hang his coats, it has a low centre of gravity and can accommodate serious weight without tipping over. Like all pieces in the line, its construction has been made transparent: the wedge-shaped metal joint has been left purposely visible, a smooth powder-coated contrast to the solid ash legs. Robust yet elegant, the Coat Stand provides practical storage for jackets, bags, and other items, even in the smallest room.
