Ordering6 questions
How do I obtain a price?
Add pieces to your enquiry and send it, or write to us directly. We reply with a written quotation covering the pieces, finishes, lead time and freight to your address.
Is there a showroom?
KMS no longer operates a retail showroom. Visits are by appointment, on site in Wellington.
Can I see samples?
Fabric, leather and timber finish samples can be sent to you. Samples of some models can be arranged on request, or we can suggest a venue near you where the piece is in use.
Is there a minimum order?
No. Small orders may be included in a larger shipment to keep freight sensible, or priced per piece including freight.
Can KMS pieces be made to custom dimensions or fabrics?
Yes. KMS furniture is made to order, so lengths, heights, timber finishes and upholstery can be specified, including customer's own material (COM/COL).
Do you work with designers and architects?
Regularly. We provide specification sheets and finish samples, and support tenders. Contact us for trade and project pricing.
Lead times & freight6 questions
How long will my order take?
KMS furniture is made to order in New Zealand in approximately 4–10 weeks. Pieces ordered from Europe or the United States take their production lead time plus freight: about 10–14 weeks by sea, or 4–6 weeks by air. Nardi pieces in stock are available straight away.
Sea freight or air freight?
Sea freight is the economical option and suits most orders where time allows. Air freight costs more but can save several weeks, which matters for projects with a fixed opening or small urgent orders. Where relevant, we quote both.
How is freight calculated?
Freight is quoted individually, according to the pieces ordered and the delivery address. We work with several carriers and select the most suitable for each delivery. We deliver throughout New Zealand and can quote international freight on request.
Can I collect my order?
All orders are freighted to you as standard. Where it suits, you can arrange your own collection.
Do you install?
Standard freight is delivered to the door. For projects, unpacking, placement and removal of packaging can be arranged where applicable.
What if something arrives damaged?
Please check your delivery when it arrives. If you can't inspect it straight away, sign for it with the carrier as “received uninspected”, and photograph any damage to the furniture or its packaging at the time. Send the photos to us and we will take it from there.
Payment & aftercare4 questions
Is a deposit required?
Orders are confirmed with a 50% deposit, with the balance due before dispatch, unless otherwise arranged.
What warranty applies?
Each piece carries its maker's warranty, listed on the product page: up to five years for Emeco, for example, and two for Nardi. Consumers in New Zealand are also protected by the Consumer Guarantees Act.
Can I return a piece?
All orders are final, so please check dimensions and finishes carefully before ordering; the specification sheets help. This does not affect your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.
How should I care for my furniture?
Care instructions accompany every piece and appear on the product page where the maker provides them. If in doubt, send us a photograph before treating a mark.
