Kaari Wall Console

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, 2015

This console serves as desk, bar, or deep shelf, depending on the height at which it is mounted. Supporting the console are vertical wall brackets available in either natural or stained oak, with simple steel bands providing diagonal support. The surface of the console is finished in linoleum. Common to the Kaari collection as a whole, the interplay between the steel bands and the vertical and horizontal elements creates a distinctive linear silhouette.

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec

Brothers from Brittany who have worked together in Paris since the late 1990s. Kaari (2015) was their first collection for Artek. It pairs oak with a thin curved steel brace, a reference to Aalto's bent birch.
